Warmth

I'm not such a big fan of winter, i think i suffer from SAD or something. I may be going crazy but I sketched this far fetched idea to use the heat from the tube to heat a big indoor area with a lake and trees that we could go to in winter. If Dubai can build a ski slope then London should have one of these.

Drilling

Hackney

Hackney was voted worst place in the UK to live. I drew this cartoon last week after hearing the helicopter that regularly hovers over our area.

rat and squirrel

Who's digging the holes?

At lunch today I noticed another van pull up and these guys have started digging a hole in the path with a drill. I was thinking how we never question these people. What if I went out and bought a drill and a van and went round London drilling holes in the street and then never returning? How long before people realised? Outside the Guardian building there are a series of holes that were dug last week and no-one has returned since. Maybe someone has already started doing this...

Lazy ant

Why is it that some ants carry big leaves, while others carry small ones? It's because some are lazy bastards.

What do you do for a living?

New Zealand News Mag

I've been appointed as the illustrator for New Zealand News, which is great as it's my first regular paid gid. It was a newspaper and I did a couple of cartoons for them way back, now it's being launched as a glossy mag. Here's my first one for them:

Some time later....

So as with all things blog, you begin and then you don't really do anything about it. So now it's time to pick things up again, 6 months on from that last post.

I now work at Cake, in digital, hence the blog.

I'm illustrating for New Zealand News Mag and with occational cartoon in Metro. To kick things off, here's a cartoon from my 9to5 series:

It begins

So, new year, new career.

Today I received the go ahead that i can leave my accountancy job which has frankly been a bit on the boring side for the last 15 months and go and get on with something I actually enjoy.

Trouble is, I'm a bit scared about leaving!
